My Granddad was a West Ham fan originally from Arsenal territory, though he did move to Forest Gate before ending up in Harold Hill.
No idea why he originally supported West Ham while living there.

I think he was a big part of the problem. His transfer 'business' was extremely suspect and what he did with the Rio money was a disgrace.
